Wightlink Ferry Port

Wightlink is a ferry company which operates routes on The Solent. Its main terminal is just a few minutes from the Gunwharf shopping outlet. Car and passenger ferries transport over four million people to the Isle of Wight each year. First built in 1976, the port infrastructure is at a point in its lifecycle where it needs to be well maintained to prevent damage to both the ferries and the port. AWA have helped preserve sections of the port in the past and have a strong working relationship with Wightlink.

Ryde Pier

Construction of new 625m long timber decked pedestrian walkway, utilising historic cast iron screw piles. The project required the removal of corroded existing structure, the extension of the screw piles, and the installation of new bracing. The works were undertaken to a listed structure, in an environmentally sensitive area.
