ATS Euromaster operates one of the UK’s largest tyre and vehicle service networks, providing MOT testing, tyre fitting, and mechanical maintenance for cars and light commercial vehicles. The programme involved adapting numerous leased industrial units and roadside workshops across southern England. AWA joined the design team to deliver engineering input allowing each branch to open quickly while meeting operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
For every facility, the team assessed existing structures through desktop reviews and intrusive site investigations. These surveys established slab thicknesses, reinforcement layouts, and structural capacity so modifications could be designed confidently. Typical interventions included forming structural openings, constructing reception and customer areas, and altering concrete slabs to accommodate recessed vehicle inspection pits required for MOT testing.
Working closely with the architect and client teams, AWA focused on practical, buildable solutions that minimised disruption to fit-out programmes. Fast turnaround calculations and clear construction information enabled contractors to progress structural alterations promptly after lease agreements were secured. The result was the transformation of commercial units into compliant, efficient vehicle service and testing centres ready for rapid public use across the southern England network.
